I'll get Inevitable finished, but what I discovered in my recent attempt to get back to the story is that recent AB canon has made me completely unsympathetic to the person Anita has become. And that impacts the stories I write.
Also, the little dust-up in Jan. 2007 (my mini-rant is here: http://mhalachaiswords.livejournal.com/229778.html) really hit my writing. Since then, I've been hard pressed to write any Anita Blake of substance (and the Anita in Dawning Light is really rather OOC at this point, when compared with the books).
I think this is the first time when my opinion of a character has seriously gone down-hill after reading the author/creator's POV. It's sad but true.
So if Anita in the remaining chapters of Inevitable seems less like the character in the books, that's just the way the chips will fall.
