Hey, so what happens when you put Tim Burton, Danny Elfman, Johnny Depp, Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Christopher Glover, Christopher Lee and Mia Wasikowska in a room together and hit frapé?

Alice in Wonderland

OH MY GOD.

Just look at Alice's costume (no spoilers). It doesn't look like it's going to be totally steampunk, but with Burton I can't help but think it might have a tinge of that angle.

The cast of this thing is making me all a-tingle with antici (say it!) pation.

I'm in love with Alice's costume. <3 Although I saw a picture of Johnny Depp in costume and that was quite... scary.

OMG, I'M SO EXCITED! It all my favorite things in one place. And Johnny Depp looks freaking crazy in that outfit. He's going to rock this role.

Boy, Depp does love the heavy makeup roles, doesn't he?

Oh shitnix Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar makes me lol. He will forever be Col. Christopher Brandon from Sense and Sensibility. I can't wait for it to come out.

Gorgeous costuming... this Alice is WAY older than the book Alice, so it's not going to be a literal translation of the book to screen... which is actually a good thing, IMO. I own a good dozen films and cartoons based on the books and yet do not believe we've seen a definitive version of Alice yet. Fingers crossed this one is an Alice for the ages.

I am really excited about this, since I've known it was in the works for like, four years or something, but I am MASSIVELY bummed because the reason I knew about it was they were planning on using Sarah Michelle Gellar as Alice. I'm willing to give this other chick the benefit of the doubt but I thought Gellar would have been a great Alice and had SO been looking forward to seeing her in it. :( :( :(
