TINE LORDS. MASTERS OF FLATWARE. SONIC SPOONS

I have been writing this story since August 2010 and it's made me a little nuts. Enjoy.

Marking Time
A White Collar/Doctor Who crossover
by [personal profile] mhalachai

At AO3| LJ

Summary: These are the things Peter Burke knows about Neal Caffrey's beginnings. None of these things are true.
Rating: PG for slight swearing
Setting: Around current times for White Collar (post 3.10); earlyish in season 5 for Doctor Who. References both old-school Who and Daleks in Manhattan from Ten's day.
Characters: Gen. Neal Caffrey, Peter Burke, the rest of the White Collar team. References to Doctor Who characters, Old and New. A cameo appearance by the Eleventh Doctor.
Words: 7,450
Notes: All characters are canon (no, really). Situations and speculation is mine alone. More notes at the end.

To the best of Peter Burke's knowledge, the man known as Neal Caffrey was born on Oct. 21, 1978, in Chicago. )

Results Round I of Round IV of Summaries for Dummaries! There are still some other prompts I'm working on, so fret not.

This time is a bit different because I expanded on some of these, into scenes from a story I'm not going to write, as well as a few ficlettes. There's also one other one where I ended up writing over 3,000 words of SG1/Glee Kurt fic and have hit a wall, but hopefully I can rescue that one (I believe in me).

Without more rambling on my part, the crossover fic!

(results of Round I, Round II, Round III)

These Small Bones
a Doctor Who/Harry Potter crossover
by [personal profile] mhalachai

rating: g
type: gen
characters: the Doctor, Lily Evans
words: 825
spoilers: none, baby
notes: From a recent request on the Summaries for Dummies III post. This just flowed as a ficlette, rather than a summary.

It starts with a girl. With him, it usually does. )

Ficlette Fiasco IV, for anonymous: I think you should write DW/NCIS that is Donna/Gibbs. She could be Jenny's new secretary or something. You know he likes the redheads...:)

Risk
Doctor Who/NCIS

Summary: When Gibbs first meets Donna Noble, all he hears is her voice.
Rating: PG
Setting: Set after Doctor Who Series Four, vague spoilers for that and for the end of NCIS season Six.
Words: 1,725
Note: This was supposed to be short, like 300 words, and then some part of my head wanted to give these two more attention. And thus...

When Gibbs first meets Donna Noble, all he hears is her voice.  )

Hey, since when do you write Twilight?

So. Yeah. Am back to my favorite writing exercise, ascending drabbles (100 words, 200 words, etc.) on a new character, in this case Alice Cullen. The idea came from wanting to understand more about Alice Cullen's backstory, and because everything I do is better as a crossover, I've done so in some cases. Information from the books and a Twiki.

Sight (Alice) )
Sound (The Doctor) )
Scent (Duncan MacLeod) )
Taste (Jack Harkness) )
Touch (Jasper Whitlock) )

Rating: PG-13 overall for some violence
Disclaimer: Twilight belongs to Stephenie Meyer. Highlander belongs to Davis/Panzer et al. Torchwood and Doctor Who are in the good hands of the BBC.

Well, runner-up.

The news of today is that my Torchwood story, Pocket Watch Boy (The Life and Times of Ianto Jones) came in as a runner-up for Best DW/TW Crossover Fic over at [livejournal.com profile] dwtwslashawards. Cool :)

If you're up for some awesome reading, check out the award-winners -- there's enough Torchwood and Doctor Who fics there to keep you busy for days! The award page

That is all :)

Nightingale, Alone
A Doctor Who story
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: Romana has failed.
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor.
Rating: PG
Setting: During and after the end of the Great Time War; and then in Parting of the Ways (1x13)
Characters: Romana, mentions of the Doctor, Rose.
Words: 750. Complete.
Author's Notes: There's really no way for me to tell how far I'm deviating from canon, with the lackluster details on the Time War, but I dug through fansites for information on the Time War and on Romana, so go with it. Much thanks to the Doctor Who Wiki for help with canon details.
What you need to know if you've never heard of Romana )

Romana tore through the destroyed, deserted streets in the Citadel, not looking down at the ravaged bodies of her people lying in the rubble. It was her fault, all her fault.  )

Doctor and the Dead
A Doctor Who/Anita Blake crossover
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: The Doctor has met Anita Blake before. But she's never seen him. Right?
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor. Anita Blake belongs to Laurell K. Hamilton.
Rating: PG
Setting Pre-series (and also waaay post-series) for Anita Blake. Set in a moment in time in Rose for Doctor Who (1x01), but some random series one spoilers.
Characters/Pairings: Anita and Nine; implied Anita/Four.
Words: 2,030
Note: Basing the setting and Anita's age (fifteen or so) on when the first AB book came out (1993). For the Doctor, I belong to the school of thought that the Doctor didn't just fade out for a moment, at the end of Rose, and he went and did all that stuff on that website. It all makes sense to me, anyway.

He ran across her centuries before, while Romana stormed around a twenty-fourth century space station looking for spare parts for an experiment. Anita Blake, a beautiful young woman with expensive clothes and hair tied back in a haphazard ponytail, sat idly in a dockside cafe, staring out into space while a cup of coffee cooled before her. )

Pocket Watch Boy 1/4
The life and times of Ianto Jones
A Torchwood/Doctor Who story
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: Ianto Jones is a very different sort of boy. (wee!Time Lord!Ianto)
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC run the show with Dr. Who and Torchwood.
Rating: PG-13 (O canon slash, how I loves thee)
Setting: Just after Torchwood's Something Borrowed.
Spoilers: Nothing past Torchwood's Out of the Rain; has spoilers up to the end of series three of Dr. Who (Last of the Time Lords and all that).
Characters/Pairings: Ianto/Jack, all of team Torchwood and a certain Doctor (and his companion from the start of series 4, but nothing spoilery other than her name).
Words: Too many. 29,970 when viewed as a whole. Complete (and how often do I say that?)
Note: I blame this little plot bunny on [livejournal.com profile] gracie_musica and the loltorchwood macro at [livejournal.com profile] ihazastopwatch because, honestly. Yes, I know that he's holding a stopwatch. Bear with me. It was going to be crack!fic and then I wrote a real story. And as such, this taking forever to write, I have been Jossed so hard. But I was so far into it that I sucked up my bruised ficly feelings and finished it. I like it loads and you should too.

Five Times The Doctor Met Someone New: The Streets of St. Louis
A Dr. Who crossover series
Part IV: Nathaniel Graison (Anita Blake AU)
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: Five people the Doctor talked into going on the TARDIS (in that saucy crossover way). Part IV: Nathaniel (Anita Blake)
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor. Nathaniel Graison and that world belong to LKH.
Rating: PG-13 for language and graphic imagery.
Setting Between The Doctor Dances and Boom Town for Doctor Who, while it's set pre-series for Anita Blake. Nathaniel is fourteen.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (Nine), Rose Tyler, Captain Jack Harkness, Nathaniel Graison. No pairings.
Words: 6,120
Note: Look! Another AU! For great justice.

Part I: Azkadelia (Tinman)
Part II: Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Part III: Dean Winchester (SPN)
Part IV: Nathaniel Graison (AB)

Nathaniel huddled in the darkest corner of the doorway, curled in on himself and wishing he was dead. )

Seeking Arcana
Part II in the Angels and Drums series
A Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Torchwood ficlette
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: Dawn is looking for Buffy in all the wrong places...
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own Dr. Who and Torchwood. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is all Joss, baby.
Rating: PG
Setting Post BtVS, after Dr. Who's Last of the Time Lords. Uses a minor non-spoilery character from Torchwood's Dead Man Walking, but you don't need to know that show.
Characters/Pairings: Dawn Summers, Little Girl
Words: 450
Note: Um, yeah. Stupid new fandoms. But I'm still working on Inevitable. This little series is to prevent me from going loca.

Sequel to Five Times The Doctor Met Someone New: Angels and Drums.

Dawn sat across the table from the little girl, wondering if she was signing a deal with the devil. )

Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor. The rest belong to their respective creators.
Rating: PG
Setting All over in the Whoverse, while it's AU for SPN.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (Seven through to Ten), Dean Winchester, and a bit of Martha.
Words: 3,850
Note: Look! My first big AU! I'm so proud.

Part I: Azkadelia (Tinman)
Part II: Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Part III: Dean Winchester (SPN)

When Dean Winchester was four years old, the man in the blue box came to take him away. )

by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor. The rest belong to their respective creators.
Rating: PG-13 for language and graphic imagery
Setting Post BtVS, after Dr. Who's Last of the Time Lords and major spoilers for that.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (Ten) and Buffy Summers
Words: 3,370
Note: Yeah, um, just watched the end of season 3 of Dr. Who. Just go with it, k?

Part I: Azkadelia (Tinman)
Part II: Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Part III: Dean Winchester (SPN)
Part IV: Nathaniel Graison (AB)

Buffy's boots sounded a soft rat-a-tat on the paving stones as she crossed a street in shadows. A cafe on the corner, full of laughing teenagers and cozy couples, held the promise of normality, if only for a few minutes. Her steps never faltered. She had lived through too much for 'normal'.  )

Five Times The Doctor Travelled With Someone New
A Dr. Who crossover series
Part I: Azkadelia (Tin Man)
by [livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords

Summary: Five people the Doctor talked into going on the TARDIS (in that saucy crossover way). Part I: Azkadelia (Tin Man)
Disclaimer: Russell T. Davis and the BBC own the Doctor. Tin Man and characters belong to the Sci Fi channel.
Rating: PG
Setting After the Tin Man miniseries, after Dr. Who's Last of the Time Lords but no spoilers for that.
Characters/Pairings: The Doctor (Ten) and Azkadelia (and some DG) from Tin Man
Words: 2,740
Notes: Why do the Dr. Who and Torchwood fandoms suit the "Five Things" writing style so well? The first of five. Continues with a bit of my musings about the Queen from To Sleep, Perchance

Part I: Azkadelia (Tinman)
Part II: Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Part III: Dean Winchester (SPN)
Part IV: Nathaniel Graison (AB)

Azkadelia stood atop the tower, all of Central City stretched out before her, glittering in the dark. )
